Product Profile: Mango Kiss Body Polish

This exfoliating body scrub contains a rich blend of raw sugar (for scrub power) and honey (a natural source of nutrients for the skin and a humectant, which means that it helps draw moisture to the skin).  We blend these two ingredients with a mixture of grapeseed, sweet almond and avocado oils for their excellent moisturizing properties. Rosehip powder provides Vitamin C, a natural anti-oxidant for the skin. 

Mango Kiss Body Polish contains Willow Bark extract (listed as salix nigra on the label), which acts as a natural preservative. The Black Willow (Salix nigra) tree, found in the eastern part of the North American continent, is famous for its dark brown, ridged bark. The fresh bark is rich in tannins and salicylic acid-like materials. The freshly prepared extract has been reported to have analgesic, antiseptic, astringent, anti-pyretic (prevent/reduce fever) and anti-inflammatory properties.
Natural Black Willowbark Extract has been shown to possess potent antimicrobial properties. Efficacy testing has shown that the extract has activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Propionibacterium acnes, two of the skin flora implicated in the formation of acne. When added to cosmetic formulations, the extract can also increase the cell renewal capabilities of cosmetic formulations. Natural Black Willowbark Extract is a safe way to get the benefits of a B-hydroxy acid without the risk of irritation.  The recommended usage for Black Willowbark extract is 2.5 – 5%.  We use approximately 2.5 - 3% in our formulation.

Other available Body Polishes include: Lemongrass, Lavender, Cocoa Butter Bliss, Pomegranate, Rosehip and Grapefruit, and Prairie Sunflowe.

Please note: Lavender, Cocoa Butter Bliss and Lemongrass are sea salt based. Pomegranate, Mango Kiss, Prairie Sunflower and Rosehip and Grapefruit are raw cane sugar based.
